Dr. Gerald Joseph Fitzgerald,Jr. D.O.,( also known to friends and patients as Dr. Fitz), was born in Milwaukee, Wisconson and raised in East Lansing, Michigan. He is a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelors of science degree in medical technology and holds a D.O. degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Fitzgerald served as assistant chief resident during his medical training with the family medicine residency program at the Suncoast Hospital in Largo, Florida.
Dr. Fitzgerald is the director of Oak Manor Nursing Home, (1998 to present), Wright’s Nursing Home,(1998 to present), and Medical director of Capri Home Health Care, (2008 to the present).
Dr. Fitzgerald is married to Elif Fitzgerald, the business manager of Fitz Tropics Medical. Together, they are the proud parents of Melinda, Kevin, Donovan, and Colby. They enjoy traveling and spending time together as a family. It truly is a family affair here at Fitz Tropics Medical, as they are both a part of the business. Dr. Fitzgerald feels honored and blessed to practice medicine with his dedicated medical team of employees as well as his life partner, Elif.
